Urinary tract infections, particularly those associated with the lower urinary tract or cystitis, are very common in today’s population. These infections are generally caused by a single species of bacteria (Escherichia Coli) and are easy to treat, although they are very troublesome.

In vitro scientific studies have shown that redcurrant helps prevent infection as it acts by preventing bacteria from attaching to the urinary tract. In addition, clinical trials have associated the consumption of redcurrant with a decrease in urinary tract infections.
